This is how you look at it. Last August 24 was Fahmia's 10th birthday. She already past ten years of her life and I see how the time is going in its own way.
For new a fathers it is an experience that he never had before. Something that you can not express. It was an  early evening on 23 of August, 2003. I was walking at a place close to Dhaka Airport. There was a newly established vegetable market close to airport railway station. I had a plan to buy some fresh vegetable. Suddenly I got a call from my wife, she is not feeling well.
I knew that she was not feeling well as long as her pregnancy was going at seven month stage. We just had a doctor's consultation one day before. The doctor was quite happy with her progress. Still every situation counts and needs special attention.
When I went back, we decided to visit the doctor again. It is not very close and those who know the traffic in Dahaka can realize the travelling distance from Airport to Dhanmondi. Any way, while travelling my wife was quite normal. Fortunately in that night, it did not took that long for us to travel to the Dhanmondi to Dr. Maliha's office. My wife was admitted immediately.
As you are a first time father, you don't know what to do. I talked with the doctor who was there at that time. My mother in law came to hospital to see us. I left the hospital as I thought everything was ok and she will feel better very soon. I came back to our resident leaving my wife and mother in law in the nursing home.
I can't remember how was my sleeping in that night. But next day early in the morning I got a phone call. Probably I did not understand what my wife said. Normally don't receive all the message when you just woke up. But I understood, Urmi is in the labor room.
I had a quick breakfast and immoderately started for the hospital. It was about 7:00 in the morning and traffic was bad. While I was in the transit, I got a phone call from my mother in law that I already became a father.

I am sitting this afternoon and waiting when the day will be over, fasting. Today is 29th of Ramadan and waiting for moon sight result. Depending on the moon, tomorrow might be a Eid day. Yet another Eid in Vancouver.
How many Eid I got in my life? During Eid, I pray everyday will be Eid day. Did I make all my days Eid day.
Let's talk about one of our Eid when I was a kid. My father was transferred to Mymensingh. We still did not start to live together. With my mother we were living in Muradnagar where we stayed about six months before joining to Mymensingh with my father. During the Eid vacation from Mymensingh, my father bought all our dresses and gift items. We were waiting for very exciting Eid. While he was travelling towards Muradnagar, his bag was smuggled at Meghna Feri Ghat.
My dad, my father when he came to Muradnagar about 100km from Feri Ghat, he was completely devastated. We were waiting for new dresses and gift item. I saw my father, full of sorrow and tears in his eyes. He said he will buy us all the dresses again. He did sometime later, but we had a wonderful Eid.

Today we had an accident this morning. Both Farhan and Fahmia was playing with me. I was sitting on the computer chair.
One of Farhan`s favorite play with me is to stand behind me when whenever I sit on the computer chair. Farhan comes behind me, hold`s my shoulder gently and start`s moving his body right and left.
This morning Fahmia came to me and start doing that one. It is bit unusual because normally she doesn`t do so. Then Farhan came and he climed to touch Fahmia`s behind. Everything was going allring until Farhan falled down to the ground from the top of the chair.
Initially Farhan started to cry and doesn`t seem it was serious. It was like innocent many other similar hurts that the kids used to get everyday. But within few minutes we understood something went wrong. He was very quiet and could not keep his shoulder up straight. He was complaining about the pain. We had a BarBQ event and we were busy with calling other`s who will join the event.
Urmi decided to take him to the family physician. The family physician said it was a concussion and send him to the hospital Emergency.
We stayed about seven hours in the hospital. He did vomited for three time. We were really scared at one point. Thanks God it did not turned badly.
We passed a tensed day with Farhan. We had to cancel the Bar-B-Q eeven

I though I would not write about this issue. But no way to escape. It is now a widely discussed in Bangladeshi community. After all these recent unstable political events, Bangladesh community here in Vancouver is full of doubt where it will be ending.
The Shahabag event in Bangladesh started with very high spirit and patriotism of young people undoutbaly put this revolution very high up. A strong movement from young Bangladeshi after liberation generation. Their strong voice against the war crime that took place back in 1971 during the liberation war. A very emotional movement from ordinary Bangladeshi young generation.
It is a matter of identity unveil, how we want to be remembered to our next generation. It is a kind of soul search, will Bangladeshi after liberation generation be a part of mixed cultarul soceity whose ideology defeted in 1971 or will emerge as a winner. They had a strong voice for the justice of war crime.
But very soon this noble idea was hijacked by awamileague.

We are at another spring. Today was a wonderful sunny day. Temperature was very comfortable; around 14 degree Celsius.

We went to Boulevard park close to our home. Farhan- Fahmia  got the chance to play around and we got the chance for photo shooting.

I tried to upload bigger size videos, seems like they limited the size of the video.
Fahmia was in a learning process of count by different numbers. Interestingly she could learn the other numbers but it was really difficult for her to learn count by eight. Here Farhan is also giving a push to Fahmia.
This is a four five months old video, however by this time Fahmia improved a lot. She started to learn division, multiplication and all difficult mats. But Fahmia always mention that math is most difficult subject for her. It will be really interesting to see how she does in math in coming days.

It is quite sometime since I last wrote in this blog. This is yet another rainy winter in Vancouver. Last December we went to Bangladesh. It is always nice to visit Bangladesh, to meet with friends and family.
